The Hollywood Reporter has reported that actor Vin Diesel has shared some first-hand insights regarding the return of The Rock and Gal Gadot in the blockbuster film Fast X. Director Louis Leterrier revealed that he and some members of the crew acted as intermediaries between The Rock and Vin Diesel.
“We reached out to The Rock and convinced him to come watch the movie. He watched it and really loved it. From there, we started talking more,” the director shared.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Vin Diesel opened up, saying, “The conversations have been going on for a while. We exchanged ideas about what elements make the best film, what feels right for the franchise, how to satisfy the global audience. And their presence, of course, always excites the fans.”
In reality, both stars only made guest appearances. Luke Hobbs, played by The Rock, appeared in a post-credit scene, while Gal Gadot’s character, Gisele, made a surprising entrance from a submarine, meeting Letty and Cipher at the South Pole.
Witnessing the comeback of the duo in Fast X, actress Michelle Rodriguez said, “Gal Gadot’s storyline has been addressed; she has a few scenes, so I wasn’t surprised by The Rock’s return. It’s really awesome.”
Currently, Fast & Furious 11 has been made, and Vin Diesel has also hinted at the 12th installment. The actor, born in 1967, believes that anything is possible, and there are many directions to develop the film series.
After The Fate of the Furious (2017), The Rock only appeared in the spin-off film Hobbs & Shaw (2019), while also parting ways with the franchise due to conflicts with Vin Diesel. Fast & Furious 6 (2013) marked Gal Gadot’s final appearance as Gisele. The reunion of both actors with the Fast & Furious family promises to bring many exciting things in the upcoming installments.
