Tom Brady responded to NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson on social media after the on-air football personality hit out at him during the former quarterback’s NFL broadcast debut with Fox.

Hanson was critical of Brady who had a monotone response to Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey possibly attempting a 71-yard field goal at the end of the first half against the Cleveland Browns.

‘(Tom) Brady has gotta get more excited than that in the booth,’ Hanson said after Aubrey lined up, ready to take an NFL-record boot.

The attempt did not end up happening as the Cowboys called timeout and decided to attempt a Hail Mary pass to end the second quarter.

This was unfair & inconsiderate by me. Yes, I was saying it tongue in cheek – but I didn’t calculate how it may come across. @TomBrady, I apologize. I promise I am rooting you on in this new venture!’ Hanson said on social media.

Brady did not expect and apology and was gracious to his now fellow broadcaster.

‘This rookie appreciates you @scotthanson!’ Brady responded. ‘No apology necessary my man, life is too short to not have fun! We’re officially on 70 yarder watch and I’m gonna spike my headset when it happens.’

Brady signed a 10-year, $375million contract with Fox in 2022 to be the network’s top color commentator, with him starting two years after he put pen to paper with the network.

Hanson was far from the only person to be critical of Brady’s debut in the booth.

‘Tom Brady ain’t stuttered this much since he told Gisele he got one more year in him,’ one user posted referring to the former signal caller’s decision to un-retire for one more season in the NFL, which came months before his divorce from supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
