Legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk is relishing in the arrival of his very first grandchild.

On Saturday, his son Riley Hawk and wife Frances Bean Cobain surprised a lot of people when they announced the birth of their first child, a boy they’e named Ronin.

The first-time mom dropped the news via Instagram on Saturday, writing, ‘9.17.2024 Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk. Welcome to the world most beautiful son. We love you more than anything.’

The daughter of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and Hole leader Courtney Love posted three photos, set to the John Lennon song Beautiful Boy, which was a tribute to the birth of his son Sean back in 1980.

Tony Hawk would also chime in on the happy news and show off his sense of humor by calling his firstborn grandchild: ‘My favorite grandson!’

Cobain’s post quickly collected tens of thousands of likes.

Harper Grohl, disgraced Foo Fighters lead singer Dave Grohl’s 15-year-old daughter, was among those who left supportive comments.

The teenager left a string of crying and black heart emoji under the post, which consisted multiple black and white photos of Ronin.

Cobain then reposted the upload in her Instagram Stories, which is when she added the gorgeous song Beautiful Boy by John Lennon, who was among her dad’s favorite musical artists.

The post teased a first look at their new bundle of joy and included a capture of the pro skateboarder cradling his son as he looked at the baby adoringly.

Another snapshot featured Cobain’s finger wrapped inside her son’s tiny index finger and thumb.

Cobain and Hawk did not announce that they were expecting a child, which in turn caught fans completely off guard when the news dropped.

It comes weeks after Riley used Instagram to wish his wife a happy birthday with a sweet post.

Uploading a black and white image of the couple smiling and holding hands, he added, ‘Happy birthday to my queen!’

The couple started dating in 2021, and after about two years of dating they made their union legal by tying-the-knot in a ceremony officiated by R.E.M.’s lead singer Michael Stripe in October 2023.

In what was likely another likely nod of respect to the late Smells Like Teen Spirit rocker, considering he was also a big fan of R.E.M., who have since broken up amicably in 2011.

Tony Hawk, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential skateboarders of all time, shares son Riley with his first wife Cindy Dunbar.

He also has two sons: Spencer, 25, Keegan, 23, from his second marriage to Erin Lee.

The vertical skateboarding pioneer also has a 16-year-old daughter Kadence with his third wife Lhotse Merriam, whom her divorced in 2011.

Currently, the skateboarding icon is married to Catherine Goodman, whom he wed in 2015.

‘With regards to music, I don’t want to pigeonhole myself and say I am a musician or a visual artist because I feel like it’s all-encompassing and I feel like every bit of my art is related to the other.’
