Season 4 of The Boys has made Homelander into a nigh-unstoppable force, essentially making him the most dangerous person in the United States of America. Not only is he physically the strongest supe, but he also essentially has the command of every government facility in the country, making the character a monolith of an obstacle for Billy Butcher and The Boys.

However, there are more than a few ways in which Homelander could be brought down by The Boys, or whatever part of the team remains free. To begin with, the mid-credits scene reveals to audiences that Soldier Boy might be back in the game, with Homelander getting especially emotional about finding out that his father is still alive. Not to mention, Ryan has ditched his dad and murdered Mallory, which means he has essentially gone rogue as well.

The Boys Season 5 might just come down to Ryan, Soldier Boy, and Homelander duking it out

Reddit is sure that Season 5 of The Boys is set to feature a dynastic showdown between Homelander, his father Soldier Boy, and his son, Ryan. Given that Homelander and Soldier Boy parted on a very bad note, and Ryan is less likely to side with his father after learning the truth about him.

This could lead to Ryan and Soldier Boy teaming up to take down Homelander, with the aid of Billy Butcher, or even on their own, which could be the highlight of the final season of the show.

Season 4 has set up a slew of plot threads of its own, with a few from previous seasons still awaiting closure as well. Given that Season 5 will be the last season of the show, it remains to be seen how these stories will converge towards the finale.

It might come down to Hughie, Butcher, or Ryan to kill Homelander, given that these characters have had a lot of time focused on them in recent episodes. Starlight is also a candidate for delivering the final blow, given her arc in the story so far. It must be noted that it’s her name against Homelander’s, which makes her the ideal candidate for the final showdown.

There is definitely a chance that Billy Butcher is not going to make it to the end

Billy Butcher is going to be the key to defeating Homelander. However, the character might be so far gone that he would try to enact a Supe genocide with the virus that Frenchie cooked up. This might cause his allies to put him down for good. The character already seems to be on the clock, with his cancer making it extremely difficult for him to function normally.

No matter how sane or insane Butcher is by the end of the show, there is not even a shadow of a doubt that the character is going to die in the show, either at the hands of someone meaningful to him like Ryan or Hughie, or as a direct consequence of his own V’ed up cancer.
